The bus ride to Normandy seemed to never end, however it was a great opportunity to kick back and take a long relaxing nap. During the short periods of time when I was awake on the bus, the scenery was gorgeous. I saw a beautiful animal resembling a gazelle prancing through a massive farm. When we finally arrived at the museum it felt nice to move around, but the mood quickly changed as we walked through. The images in the museum were shocking and morbid. Nazi Germany and the terrified facial features of victims flooded the rooms. The sight was a perfect build up for when we landed on Omaha beach.
Omaha beach was one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, probably because it is kept well maintained. It's hard to imagine that this was where thousands of men lost their lives to protect the world and saved it from the continuing war. I personally do not support the idea of war, however I still have a whole lot of respect for everyone that has joined one.
Let us not forget these men, let's also not forget this magnificent trip. I can't wait to see what other stunning sceneries this trip has in store for us.
